Calcinaia

Borgo pisano molto attivo sul territorio, con molte imprese artigianali

The name ‘Calcinaia’ is a reference to the numerous Il nome Calcinaia fa riferimento alle numerous ‘fornaci’ used for ceramics working.
In the month of May it is very typical Regata Storica on river Arno, in honor of Santa Ubaldesca Taccini.
In the part called ‘Fornacette‘ there are a lot of small companies and entreprises born in the last decades.
The center, instead, has developped in the tourism and services field.

One of the main attractions in this town is Pieve di San Giovanni Battista, a church completed in 1790 by Giovanni Andreini.

It has only a nave.
The clock tower, built in 1962, is 36 meters high and it has completed in 2010 by Cristiano Franchi.
