Peccioli

Overlooking from its hill the Era Valley (Valdera) along the route that leads from Volterra to Pisa, Peccioli is a place with a strong vocation for agriculture and tourism.
The village houses the Museum of Russian Icons “F. Bigazzi” and the Archaeological Museum of Peccioli. In the township, there is a

Two of the main events of the City are the Theatre Festival “11 Moons” and the bicycle race “Coppa Sabatini“.

The paths in Peccioli are pleasant and heterogeneous, they cross the territory with dirt roads, farmlands, ancient paved streets, largely almost uninhabited. The paths wind through a series of streams, forests and vast countrysides characterized by a varied vegetation of poplars, cypresses and brooms. The trails depart from towns that offer to the visitors some historical, artistic and cultural relevant statements. We find tracks like:
– Era River, which offers suggestive view of the cliffs of tuff that line the main road from Peccioli to Fabbrica;
– The path of Molino Ripassaia which offers a landscape which is coloured in spring by different cultures such as oats and lucern; in summer is full of brooms and wheat fields.
– The path “Anelli di Cedri” (Cedars rings) offers a habitat of flora and fauna of wild beauty
– The path “Variante Ortaglia”.
