Museum of Palazzo Pretorio in Peccioli

The Museum of Palazzo Pretorio in Peccioli houses Museo delle Icone Russe “F. Bigazzi” that, inaugurated in 2000, has become a place of preservation from over the 200 artworks exposed: some collections are Bigazzi’s and Belvedere’s,.

The museum is enriched from the collection of Incisions and Lithographies, a 2006 donation from Vito Merlini: 279 papers between incisions, lithographies, woodcuttings and serigrafie that he has collected.

Palazzo Pretorio simbolize the politic power and during the centuries, this has become the main exposure in Peccioli through a comparison.
Belvedere’s collectio, unique in its genre, presents wooden icons from 18th-20th century derived from the orthodox world. They show the date, the sign or a dedication.
