ANDREA BOCELLI’S STORY
Andrea Bocelli (Lajatico, 22nd September 1958) is an Italian tenor.
He improved himself thanks to Franco Corelli, and nowadays he is one of the most traditional and Italian voice.
Bocelli works with record house Sugar Music and he is one of the best known singer of Europe an USA.
Bocelli had an academic vocal education and he became famous to his huge crowd starting with light music, and slowly he started also as lyric tenor.
He is part of the majority Italian artists who sold a lot of CD’s.
“Arie Sacre” is the classical album most sold in Italy by a solo artist.
On 2nd March in 2010 his name has been included in the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his activity in the International music world.
As a tenor, he sang in theaters like the Carnegie Hall, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Metropolitan Opera House…
At the beginning of the World Economic Forum 2015 of Davos, he received the prize “Crystal Award”.
On the 26th 2015 he sang to the Pope Francesco for an Event, the Family World Meeting in Philadelphia.

- 2007: Baroc prize.
- 2009: Faraglioni prize (in Capri).
- 2010: Hollywood Walk of Fame (7000 Hollywood Boulevard), for his contribute at the theatre.
- 2012: USA prize for the Italy USA foundation.
- 2012: The “Campano d’oro” (because he is the most famous Pisano graduated in the world).
- 2013: Lions Humanitarian Award 2013 (Humanitarian prize Lions).
- 2015: Triennal prize “Arte, Scienza e Pace” by International Onlus “Centro dell’Uomo”.
- 2016: Degree “Honoris Causa” in modern philology by “Università degli Studi di Macerata”.
